Subcontracted to IBM as Communications Specialist.

·          Reengineer The Pennsylvania State Police UNISYS communications environment to a TCP-IP based network.

Project: EDS/SBA outsourcing contract

·          Responsibilities included:

·          Administer and maintain SBA’s (Small Business Administration) UNISYS and IBM networks.

·          Plan and implement Host Lan Controllers for the UNISYS 2200/622 mainframe.

·          Reengineer the SBA network to a TCP-IP network using ATTACHMATE’s INFOCONNECT and QUICKWARE’s QTERM terminal emulations to the UNISYS 2200 mainframe and QWS3270 terminal emulation to the IBM mainframes.

·          Design and implement Restart/Recovery procedures under   DCPOS.

·          Act as a consultant through EDS for our customer in testing out and suggesting new features and technology that would benefit SBA in their choice of networking strategy.

·          Train the Help Desk personnel in basic trouble shooting and DCP operations.

·          In March and April 1997 I also subcontracted to Partners Group, Phoenix, Arizona.

·          Project: Westchester County, White Plains, New York.

·          Assist the Partners Group personnel to migrate the UNISYS DCP/35’s from CD5R2A (Telcon 9R1A) and local code to CD6R2 (Telcon 10R2) with program products: TCP-IP, BSCR3270, SNA/net, X.25, ASYNC-UTS converter and ENS.

·          Train the Partners Group personnel in basic UNISYS communications maintenance, trouble shooting and support.

 

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL, FRANKFURT, GERMANY   1993-1994

 

Project: Contracted directly by DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung) as a Communications Specialist.

·          Responsibilities included:

LUFTHANSA DP, FRANKFURT, GERMANY                1991-1992

 

Project: UNISYS maintenance contract                                                           

Contracted to UNISYS as a Technical Support Consultant at LUFTHANSA/Frankfurt.

·          Responsibilities included:

·          Set up recovery procedures

·          Operator training

·          Design and code special backup routines under DCPOS for the customer.

UNISYS is a manufacturer of a full suite of data processing equipment. During my career with UNISYS and the UNISYS customer base, my responsibilities included the development of their products and their implementation and support to the user community.

 

Senior Communications Support Specialist         1988-1991

 

Project: International Support, EAD, England.

In this position I supplied second level support for communications software throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. 

·          Responsibilities included:

·          Visits to subsidiaries to resolve technical problems

·          Remote support via UNISYS internal procedures

·          Coordinate problem escalation and reporting to the respective development organizations.

·          Other responsibilities included:

·          Work at the development and support organization in the Salt Lake City Development Center.

·          Provide second level support to customers within the United States and the Americas division for SNA/net and TCP-IP program products.

 

Systems Specialist                                                   1985-1988

 

Project: UNISYS, Sweden                                                                                

During this period I worked for the Swedish Subsidiary where my responsibilities varied between the developments of tailor made solutions to our standard products as well as their support.

·          Among my achievements were:

·          Design and development of an end user in Telcon to provide native mode interface for SNA3270 terminals to SNA Gateway as a menu driven logon service.

Customer - Bascet Infolink

·          The migration of network software from Telcon 4R2 to 6R3A to allow the customer to take the advantage of the more modern twisted pair connection and his education of this new network software and its management techniques.

Customer – Luna

·          Design and development of an End User module in Telcon to provide a menu driven common logon service to 9 IBM SNA Hosts and 2 EIS2500 Hosts for UTS terminals interfacing via SNA Gateway.

Customer - Bascet Infolink

·          Migrate 1100 System software from EXEC level 36 to level 38 and provide customer training. Provide network planning and sizing for Telcon 6R1.

Customer - ICA EOL

·          Enhance and implement TNAS under Telcon 4R2B to provide a network management system. Supply system generation and operation training for a migration from 90/40 to 1100 operating system.

Customer - Kommun Data

·          The design and development of a CMS1100 interface in user own code area between IMS1100 and the Philip's Host Interface Processor for SMART Booking System.

Customer - Atlas Travel Agency

·          Supply of first level support for 1100 and Telcon Software to the existing customer base within Sweden along with various pre sales activities.

 

Systems Analyst                                                        1980-1984

 

Project: UNISYS, South Africa, 1982-1984

During this period I worked on the Telcon SATS project in South Africa where the needs of the customer lead to the development of the first version of SNA/net.

·          Responsibilities included:

·          System test

·          Fault diagnosis and correction

·          Integration of X25 GA-Autonet and SNA/net with Telcon 4R1.

 

Project: UNISYS, Sweden, 1980-1982

·          Some of my responsibilities included:

·          Supply of first level support to the customer base Conversions of the 90/30 customer base to 1100 systems

·          COBOL and Assembly Language programming

·          Conversion of an ICL System to 1100 where I converted ICL 1900 COBOL programs to 1100 using UCAP

·          Performed system testing and performance analysis

·          Write CTS subroutines for 1100 operations.

·          Conversion of IBM RPG II and PL/1 programs to TIP/DPS COBOL programs

·          Implement TIP transaction logging to disc which involved both 1100 Assembly programming and ALGOL-Genius programming under TIP.
